BRUNCH

Every few months, we spend our gathering time eating brunch together. We do this to remind ourselves that the Church is more than singing and teaching; it’s a group of people sharing their lives together with Jesus. We also do this because it’s fun!

We set a long table and provide coffee, plates, silverware, and napkins. Everyone is welcome to bring food to share - homemade or store bought, sweet or savory, doughnuts or quiche or whatever you’d like.

Brunch Sunday is not a "week off of church." It’s actually more church than anything else we do! These Sundays are filled with purpose and were created to help us actually start to become the beloved community put into motion by the power of the Spirit. If you still can’t quite picture yourself at a church brunch, or it’s been a little while since you’ve made it to one of ours, here’s what you can expect:

1. Everyone brings something to share and we put it out on a long table (ANYTHING is welcome).
2. At 10:30ish we gather everyone for a few instructions and a brief prayer.
3. All are invited to go through the buffet line and sit at tables together. You’ll have about 20 minutes to eat and chat with your tablemates.
4. At 11ish, one of our pastors will stand up and read a scripture, give a brief reflection (5 minutes), and introduce several discussion questions.
5. Your table can choose to engage with the questions you find the most helpful, though-provoking, or inspiring.
6. After table conversations wind down, announcements and clean up instructions will be given from the front.
7. At this time, you can continue freely mingling with people until noon or begin to clean up, pack up, and say your goodbyes.

Kids are encouraged to participate in the table time as much as they are able, but an open play space is also available in the gym for kids that don’t want to sit at a table after their food is gone.

 We’ll see you Sunday!
