At LifePath we believe that following Jesus means getting your hands dirty. We want to make a difference in the lives of people in our community, and we believe that's what Jesus meant when he taught us to ask God to "let your kingdom come." We want to make our community a little more like God's Kingdom by working to end poverty, injustice, homelessness, racism, and suffering. We do this by engaging in a number of endeavors — some by meal communities, and some by the larger LifePath community.
Church-Wide Mission Efforts
Fill the Packs
Every August we pool our resources and assemble fully-loaded backpacks to distribute to kids whose families don't have the means to buy school supplies.
Swap and Drop
Twice a year we open our space for a free community clothing swap. Dozens of families shop for gently used clothes, and what's leftover goes to the Clothing Bank of Delaware.
ASPIRA Friendship Breakfast
We love our host school — Las Americas ASPIRA Academy — and we provide a special breakfast for the hard working teachers and staff once a year.
Family Promise Hospitality Center Compassion Team
Once a quarter, our Family Promise compassion team serves at the Family Promise Hospitality Center, serving families experiencing homelessness in New Castle County. We set up rooms, prepare meals, stock the pantry, and provide support for the families staying in the center.
Creative Mentoring at Aspira Compassion Team
Our mentors volunteer up to one hour per week in Aspira with a student who has been identified by a counselor or teacher as needing some additional one-on-one attention by a caring adult.
Prison Care Compassion Team
Our team supports Crowley County Correctional Facility in Olney Springs, Colorado with prayer, letters, and encouragement.
