In the before times, every 2 to 3 months, the LifePath community would spend our gathering time eating brunch together. We would do this to remind ourselves that the Church is more than singing and teaching, it's a group of people sharing their lives together with Jesus. We would also do this because it's fun.
What does a brunch look like? We start with a big table, mostly empty, with just coffee, juice, plates, napkins, and plasticware. We ask each family to bring a dish to share: an egg casserole, some fruit, some Dunkin Donuts (or Duck Donuts if you're really fancy). Spend hours baking delicious cinnamon rolls, or swing by a store and grab a container of blueberry muffins on your way in. It's not about what we are eating. It's about sharing a meal together.
When it's time to eat, we fill our plates and then find seats. Sit with someone you haven't talked to in awhile (or ever!) and strike up a conversation. Ask questions. Tell them about yourself. Talk about everything, talk about nothing, talk about the Eagles chances of winning their game (spoiler alert: they probably won't).
This brunch will look a little different than pre-Covid. We'll be eating outside. Some families may choose to bring their own food and not eat the shared dishes. Some families may choose to sit a bit away from others. Do whatever is best for your family.
We look forward to sharing a meal together!
